Functional Glass Spheres
Spheriglass® and Spheriglass® EMB for Polymer Additives
By adding Spheriglass® as polymer additives, plastic polymers will be applied a variety of functional properties. Spheriglass® are hard and have low thermal expansion characteristics so that they not only prevent distortion and strain while plastics shrink but also improve strength. Addition of appropriate types of glass spheres enables plastics to obtain such properties as surface hardness, matte finish, weight reduction, noise insulation, and heat insulation.
■Spheriglass®
Isotropic, easy flow, and countermeasure of plastic deformation. Ideal for precision molding.
Features
-
Isotropic in nature. High fluidity and dispersibility. Distortion in plastic composite is evenly distributed, which helps less deformation and is ideal for precision molding
-
Plastic compounds do not increase so much viscosity even under high loading of glass spheres, which helps easy handling.
-
Hard and highly heat-resistant. Solid glass spheres improve plastic properties and create high added value.
Main use
-
Resins: Weight reduction, viscosity adjustment, improvement of whiteness, dimensional stability, dimensional accuracy (sink marks and warpage), wear resistance (slidability), surface hardness, heat resistance,
-
Films: Anti-blocking, UV protection
-
Various paints: improvement of surface hardness, matting of surface
-
Others
■Spheriglass® EMB
High performance Micro Glass Spheres for a matte surface finish and improved hardness.
Features
-
High-performance was achieved by fine and narrow range particle size
-
In addition to the benefits of solid glass spheres, Micro Glass Spheres enhance surface smoothness and higher accuracy of molding.
Main use
-
Filling in various paints: improvement of surface hardness, matte processing
-
Filling film: anti-blocking
-
Filling various materials: gap material, light diffusion
-
