Metal Finishing

Blasting Media

Media for blasting that are useful to remove burrs and provide a smooth metal surface. A variety of bead sizes are available for users to choose from to achieve the desired effect of cleaning, peening, and finishing process with less grinding dust. Glass beds are widely used for finishing precise parts such as airplanes, automobiles, precision machinery, office automation equipment, and optical instrument or cutting-edge technology area such as electronics.

■Glass Beads

Easy-to-use blasting media that allows you to choose the particle size according to your application.

Features

  • Produce uniform work surface because the amount of metal removed is much less than other abrasives

  • Low maintenance cost of blasting equipment because they are less-wearing

  • No contamination of work surface and ideal for wide range of applications

  • Available for both dry and wet blasting equipmen

Main use

  • Cleaning: Removal of dirt that adheres during various manufacturing processes such as metal parts, molds, engine parts, etc.

  • Peening: Turbine blades, gears, tool cutting edges, metal parts such as bolts, nuts, and springs

  • Deburring: metal and resin moldings after press/machine processing, injection needles

  • finishing/matte finishing: cameras, watches, precious metals, building materials, resin moldings, golf clubs, aluminum wheels

  • Surface Preparation: plating, adhesion, painting, soldering

  • Scale removal: Hardened parts, welded parts, oxide film on various moldings

  • others

■Glass Powder

It is a media with excellent cutting workability as it grinds a large amount of the workpiece.

Features

  • Removes sufficient amount from the work surface by making use of corner burrs and provides excellent grinding

  • No contamination on work surface

  • Available for both dry and wet blasting equipment

Main use

  • Cleaning: Metal parts, molds, and engine parts smudged during manufacturing processes

  • Deburring: metal and plastic molds after press or machine working

  • Finishing/Matte finishing: cameras, watches, precious metals, building materials, plastic molds

  • Surface Preparation: plating, adhesive bonding, coating, soldering

  • Scale removal: Oxide coating of various metal moldings

  • others

■ PLASHOT®

Soft resin media used for processing electronic parts and precision parts.

Features

  • Highly resistant to abrasion and impact, and deburring function lasts longer

  • Two types of materials (melamine and urea) and wide range of bead sizes available for all sorts of moldings.

  • Wearing of equipment is much less, and the maintenance cost can be kept low

  • Products usable with dry and wet blasting equipment are available.

  • Dry type product is excellent in handling and economic efficiency because of antistatic treatment on the surface that prevents dust and abrasives on work surface

Main use

  • Cleaning: Cleaning of aluminum parts, molds, and die-cast products. removal of adhesive and paint

  • Deburring: electronic parts, die-cast products, plastic moldings, non-ferrous metal, rubber, soft metal moldings

  • Finishing: Plastic moldings, soft metal moldings

  • Surface Preparation: plating, adhesive bonding, coating, soldering

  • Scale removal: Oxide coating on various metal moldings

  • others
